Criteria and Requirements

The candidates who fulfill the following criteria can apply for the PSU-Graduate Studies Scholarship:

  • Open to both Thai and foreign students.
  • Available for students studying at the graduate level (all faculties, all programs, all campuses).
  • Must be enrolled in a program that requires writing a thesis or dissertation.
  • Must report on thesis progress every 6 months. Failure to do so may result in the suspension of the scholarship.
  • Must meet the English language proficiency requirements set by the Graduate School (PSU-TEP, CU-TEP, TOEFL, IELTS) within one semester after receiving the scholarship.

Application Procedure:

  • Wait for the scholarship announcement. Usually, the PSU-Graduate Studies Scholarship application period begins in November and ends in December.

3. Thesis Research Funding for the Topics on Community Problem Solving

Every year, PSU’s Thesis Research Funding for the Topics on Community Problem Solving awards 10 grants, each worth 50,000 Baht. Funding for graduate students working on thesis projects that address and resolve community issues is intended to be provided via this source. Students must be registered in a thesis-based graduate program and have a thesis proposal that has been approved in order to be eligible (GS2).

  • Number of scholarships: 10 grants per year
  • Scholarship Value: 50,000 Baht/grant

Application Process

  • Usually early February, applications for the Thesis Research Funding become available. Make sure you send in your application before the end of this month in order to be eligible for the grant.

4. Research Grant for Thesis

Financial assistance is available to graduate students pursuing thesis research through Prince of Songkla University’s Research Grant for Thesis. Thirty thousand Baht goes to doctoral students and fifteen thousand Baht goes to master’s students. Applying students must not be receiving any other research funds at the time of application (unless the other grant has ended), be enrolled in a thesis-based program, and have an accepted thesis proposal (GS2). Criteria

  • Candidates must be enrolled in a PSU graduate program with a thesis requirement.
  • The candidate’s thesis proposal has to be authorized and registered as GS2. This permission shows that the graduate school has reviewed and approved the research subject.
  • This scholarship is not available to applicants who are already the recipients of other research funds for their thesis. The student might, however, be qualified to apply if the other scholarship has ended before submitting an application for this research award.
