UCL – University College London
London, England’s University College London, also known as UCL, is a public research university. It is the largest university in the UK in terms of postgraduate enrolment and the second-largest in terms of total enrolment. It is a member of the federal University of London.
Founded in 1826 as London University (albeit without the authority to grant degrees) by individuals motivated by Jeremy Bentham’s radical theories, UCL was the first university in London and the first in England to be fully secular and to accept students without regard to their religious beliefs.
