Scholarships Benefits
- Nova Scotia Graduate Scholarship – Master’s: This award is worth $10,000/year for 2 years (subject to annual renewal)
- Nova Scotia Graduate Scholarship – Doctoral: This award is worth $15,000/year for 4 years (subject to yearly renewal).
- African Nova Scotian Graduate Scholarship (for all Masters or PhD): This award is valued at $15,000/year for up to 2 years (subject to annual renewal). This scholarship is awarded annually to an African Nova Scotian who has either recently begun or plans to continue graduate studies at Dalhousie.
Killam Predoctoral Fellowships
- Master’s (Level 1): up to $25,000 per year for up to two years, plus international tuition and relocation allowance (if applicable)
- Doctoral (Level 2): up to $30,000 per year for up to three years plus a President’s Award for up to two years and a relocation allowance (if applicable)
James Robinson Johnston Graduate Entrance Scholarship for African Canadians
- The Master’s Scholarship is valued at $15,000 for one twelve-month academic year of full-time study. The award is renewable and subject to an annual progress review (scholarship level scholarship required). The prize can be awarded for a maximum of 24 months of full-time study. - The doctoral scholarship is valued at $19,000 per twelve-month academic year. The award is renewable and subject to an annual progress review (scholarship level scholarship required). The prize can be awarded for a maximum of 36 months of full-time study.
- Indigenous Graduate Scholarship: valued at $15,000/year, awarded annually to an Indigenous/Indigenous student who has either recently commenced or plans to pursue postgraduate study (Masters or PhD) at Dalhousie.
Vitamin Scholarship
- The Vitamin Scholarship – Master’s:$19,000 per year for one year for thesis-based master’s programs. Dalhousie University Scholarships.
- The Vitamin Scholarship – Doctoral:$21,000 per year for up to two years for PhD students.
Abdul Majid Bader Graduate Scholarship
The scholarship is worth $40,000 for one twelve-month academic year of full-time study. This scholarship is for a Master’s or PhD thesis-based study and is renewable and subject to annual progress review.

Eligibility Criteria for Dalhousie University Scholarships
To be eligible for a scholarship at Dalhousie University, students must meet the following criteria:
- Be a full-time student at Dalhousie University
- Meet the specific eligibility requirements for each scholarship
- Maintain a minimum GPA (Grade Point Average) of 3.0 or higher
- Submit all required documentation by the deadline
Scholarships Deadline:
The deadline for applicants currently enrolled or intending to enroll in a bachelor’s degree program is January 16, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. AST. Some programs require earlier submissions to allow for feedback and review. Applicants can get, edit, and resubmit their applications until the January 15 2025 deadline.
