The France Excellence Europa scholarship program, created by the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, enables students from 26 member states of the European Union to apply for scholarships to attend a French university for a master’s degree.

Benefits of the France Excellence Europa Scholarship Program

The following are the benefits of the France Excellence Europa Scholarship Program:

  1. The payment of €6,850 as a half-yearly allowance
  2. The payment of €1,700 as an installation allowance
  3. Exemption from paying registration fees for national diplomas at public universities and other establishments managed by the Ministry of Higher Education
  4. first aid in locating housing in CROUS university dormitories (scholarship holder is responsible for paying rent)
  5. Enrollment in an insurance plan for non-holders of European Health Insurance Cards for the first three months of their stay in France, subject to enrollment in the general social security system.
  6. enrollment in an additional health insurance policy
  7. Benefit of Life at School and Campus Exemption from the CVEC
  8. exclusive savings on cultural events hosted by Campus France.

Eligibility Criteria

The Candidates who fulfill the following criteria can apply for the France Excellence Europa Scholarship Program:

  • being in the age range of 18 to 26 when you first arrived in France;
  • being accepted as a Master’s 1 or Master’s 2 student at a French university for the 2024–2025 academic year;
  • not having a French higher education degree or not being enrolled in a higher education program in France at the moment;
  • not be the beneficiary of any French ministry, Erasmus +, or AUF scholarship.

  • Education, Pedagogy
  • Culture & Heritage
  • Law and political sciences
  • French Language and Civilization, Foreign Languages and Civilizations and European Studies
  • Health
  • Computer Science and Digital
  • Environmental Sciences

Eligible Nationalities

Citizens of the following countries are eligible for France Excellence Europa Scholarship:

Germany, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Croatia, Denmark, Spain, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden.

Binational students as well as those with French nationality are not permitted to enroll in the program.

Duration

For the following duration, the scholarship is given out:

  • Enrollment in M2 for a maximum of 12 months
  • When enrolling in M1, a maximum of 24 months

Documents/Material Required to Apply

  • CV
  • Cover letter
  • A copy of the applicant’s most recent higher education diploma or, if they are currently pursuing further education, a copy of their secondary school diploma. As soon as the higher education diploma is acquired, it needs to be sent.
  • Copies of transcripts from the last two years of higher education
  • Letter of admission to a Master’s 1 or Master’s 2 program at a French institute of higher education
  • Copy of an identity document (passport, ID card)

*At the time of application, if the applicant does not yet have a letter of admission for the 2024–25 academic year, they are encouraged to attach a sworn statement that includes the name of the institution, the program title for 2024–25, and a copy of correspondence with the institution attesting to the fact that the admissions application is being processed. Every course option must have a sworn statement attached to the application file.

Deadline for

Potential applicants must make sure they submit all necessary documents and finish the France Excellence Europa Scholarship application procedure before the deadline of March 29, 2024.

Application Procedure

The French Embassy in the applicant’s home country must receive electronic applications. Below is a list of email addresses broken down by nation. The college relations teams of the French embassies pre-select applications. The applications are then assessed by collaboration professionals from the relevant sectors within the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs.
