In Edinburgh, Scotland, there is a public research university called the University of Edinburgh. One of Scotland’s four ancient universities, it was established by the town council in 1582 under the authority of a royal charter from King James VI and was formally opened in 1583. It is also the sixth-oldest university still in operation in the English-speaking world.

Eligibility for The Glenmore Postgraduate Scholarship

  • The Glenmore Postgraduate Scholarship will be given to applicants who are accepted for admission in one of the eligible Human Medical programmes listed above for the 2024–2025 academic year. Students from Africa are encouraged to apply for the Glenmore Medical Postgraduate Scholarship.
  • The scholarship will be given on the basis of academic achievement and the quality of a personal statement. Candidates must possess, or anticipate obtaining, the international equivalent of a first-class honours degree from the UK.
  • Successful applicants are expected to continue working in nations that will gain the most from their additional medical education after completing their studies. Those who have never had the chance to study at the master’s level before will be given preference.

Deadline

The Glenmore Postgraduate Scholarship application deadline is 30th May 2024, at 11:59 p.m. BST. The results will be communicated to all applicants by late June or early July 2024.

To apply for the Glenmore Postgraduate Scholarship at the University of Edinburgh, UK

  • Candidates must already have received an offer of admission to the University of Edinburgh and must have accepted or be planning to accept that offer wholeheartedly.
  • Applicants must have submitted an admissions application to the University of Edinburgh in order to access the scholarship application system. Please be aware that it may take up to five working days after an application for admission has been submitted for all system checks to be finished and access to be granted.
  • Web-based information portal, MyEd, can be used to access the online scholarship application form. The address is https://www.myed.ed.ac.uk.
