Virtual University of Pakistan
Public university The Virtual University of Pakistan (VU) is based in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan at the M.A. Jinnah Campus on Defence Road off Raiwind Road. It primarily focuses on offering programs for distance learning using information and communication technology (ICT) capabilities.
University Virtual Doors
The University first opened its virtual doors in 2002, and since then, more than a hundred and ninety affiliated institutions have helped to support the students’ infrastructure in more than a hundred locations across the nation. Students from Pakistan who live abroad in a number of other nations in the area are also enrolled in the university’s programs. The mission of the Virtual Institution of Pakistan is to “become a globally recognized technology-based university that increases access to higher education while upholding the highest standards of quality.”
Virtual University of Pakistan & Distance Learning
One of the two Universities in Pakistan that offer distance learning is VU (the first one is Allama Iqbal Open University). Through its Learning Management System (LMS), YouTube channel, and online sessions, the students can access lectures. For the purpose of teaching, the VU-LMS combines online interaction (e-classrooms), reading material, audio/video tutorials, and video lectures. However, it adheres to a fairly rigorous system of assessment and evaluation, much like any other traditional higher education institution (HEI). The University of Pakistan’s more than 190 campuses give its students numerous opportunities to engage in academic pursuits. Even though the university uses a semester structure, students are completely free to study anywhere, whenever they want.
