Vice Chancellor’s International Excellence Scholarship

International students who are new to the University of Waikato and who want to enroll in classes in person in 2024 are encouraged to apply for the Vice Chancellor’s International Excellence Scholarship. The scholarships are valued at up to NZD 15,000 and will be given to deserving candidates with outstanding academic records.

University of Waikato International Entrance Scholarship for School Leavers

To support talented onshore international students enrolling in the University of Waikato’s undergraduate programs for the first time, as well as to promote internationalization and educational opportunities, the University of Waikato established the International Entrance Scholarship for School Leavers. All overseas students presently enrolled in New Zealand who have finished a full year of study at NCEA Levels 2 and/or 3—or equivalent—in a New Zealand high school in the year before enrolling in the degree and so accepting the scholarship are eligible for the scholarship.

This scholarship is awarded automatically to applicants who meet the requirements to study at the University of Waikato; there is no application process.

University of Waikato International Progression Bursary

To assist international students in making the transition from undergraduate to postgraduate studies at the University of Waikato, the UoW International Progression Bursary was founded in 2022. For this Bursary, there is no application necessary.

Michael Baldwin Memorial Scholarship
