Eligibility
Scholarships will be offered for students beginning any of the University’s part-time online master’s programs in the academic year 2025–2026
- Candidates must already have received an admissions offer from the University of Edinburgh, which they must have enthusiastically accepted or be prepared to accept.
- In their personal statements, applicants are required to include the following:
- (a) the specific aspects of the program that attracted you to the University of Edinburgh;
- (b) evidence that completing this program successfully will advance your career and personal development; and
- (c) an explanation of how you will be able to give back to your community, region, or nation as a result.
The scholarship will be awarded based on academic success and the caliber of a personal statement. Preference will be given to those who have never had the opportunity to study at the master’s level.

Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships
The Commonwealth Distance Learning Programme is one of three Master’s programs provided by the Commonwealth Scholarships Commission. These scholarships offer talented and motivated individuals the opportunity to gain the training and skills necessary for sustainable development that may not be accessible in their home countries.
The Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships are available to candidates from eligible low- and middle-income Commonwealth countries, allowing them to pursue part-time, taught Master’s studies with UK universities while staying in their home countries. Each scholarship will cover full tuition fees and is available for up to three years of part-time study.

To apply for a Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarship, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Be a citizen of, have been granted refugee status from, or be a British Protected Person in an eligible Commonwealth country.
- Be permanently and continuously resident in an eligible Commonwealth country.
- Hold a first degree with at least an upper second class (2:1) standard. In some cases, a lower qualification combined with sufficient relevant experience may be considered.
- Provide at least one reference.
- Hold an offer to begin their chosen course of study in 2025.

The application process consists of two parts:
PART ONE
Secure an offer for your chosen program of study. You can apply for programs via the University of Edinburgh’s Degree Finder.
To secure an offer:
- Demonstrate that you meet the entry requirements by providing all required supporting documents.
- Ensure your application is competitive relative to the applicant pool.
- A conditional offer from the University is sufficient for applying for a CSC scholarship.
PART TWO

Three scholarships are available to pay the full tuition for a selected taught Master’s program offered by or associated with the Edinburgh Futures Institute for entry in 2025–2026: the George Lindsay Cooper Scholarship, the Madeleine Bentley Scholarship, the Bilan–Cooper Scholarship, and the Luksic Scholarship for Sustainability & Data.
Fully Funded Rhodes Scholarship at Oxford University England
Benefits
Each of these scholarships will support applicants who might experience challenges while pursuing postgraduate study. Each award pays the entire UK tuition fee and can be applied to full- or part-time online or on-campus study. Awards will be used to pay tuition directly.

Application Process
