The TWAS-SN Bose Postgraduate Fellowship Program is an initiative of the World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) and the S.N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences in Kolkata, India. Giving students from developing countries the opportunity to pursue doctorates in the natural sciences at Indian universities is the aim of this fellowship program.

Benefits of theTWAS-SN Bose Postgraduate Fellowship Program

A monthly stipend to cover living expenses and food will be provided by the S.N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences. There will be no foreign exchange rate conversion for the monthly stipend. Accommodations on campus will be offered for free. Complete health insurance is not covered by the monthly stipend. Nonetheless, the Center does take out a tiny payment for a Contributory Medical Plan.

Eligibility Criteria

  • be no older than 35 years old as of December 31, the application year;
  • be citizens of a developing nation (outside of India);
  • must not possess a visa for either long-term or short-term residence in any developed nation, including India;
  • possess a master’s degree in mathematics, physics, chemistry, or biology. He or she must have finished at least five years’ worth of undergraduate and graduate coursework at an accredited school or university.

  • show proof of English language competency if English was not the primary language of instruction;
