University of Queensland
Brisbane, the capital city of Queensland, Australia, is home to the University of Queensland (UQ, sometimes known as Queensland University), a public research institution. One of the six sandstone universities—an unofficial term for the oldest institution in each state—was established by the Queensland parliament in 1909. In addition, UQ is a founding member of the global research-heavy Association of Pacific Rim Universities as well as Australia’s premier Group of Eight, edX.
